Lord Brahma, the Creator God, and Tirumal (Lord Vishnu), the Protector God, Were Arguing About Who Was the Greatest, and a Flame Erupted in the Midst, and the One Who Saw the Feet and Hair of the Flame and Came First Stated That He Who Arrives First Is the Greatest of Us. As a Result, Tirumal Assumed the Form of Varaha (The Pig) And Entered the Soil in Search of the Feet, but Was Unable to Locate Them.

Brahma, Who Had Gone Out to Examine the Swan’s Hair, Noticed the Thaazhampoo Falling and Inquired What This Flame of Fire Was, to Which He Responded That It Was Shiva and That I Had Slipped Out of His Braid and Had Been Falling For Forty Thousand Years.

Instead of Attempting to View the Hair, Brahma Instructed Thazhambu to Tell Thirumal That He Had Seen the Hair of This Shiva, the Blaze of Fire. When He Told Brahmma That He Couldn’t Find It, He Mocked Him by Saying, “He’s Like a Child to Me.” Enraged, Shiva Told Brahma That in Padmakarpam You Will Be Born in Tirumal’s Undhikamalam, That You Will Not Have a Separate Temple on Earth, and That You Will No Longer Be Used in My Worship.

Recognizing His Error, He Apologised to Thazhambu and Told Him That He Would Only Be Beneficial to My Devotee in the Temple of Uttara Kosamangai, Where I Had Been Incarnated as a Kid on Earth.

Lord Shiva, the Karunamoorthy, Instantly Replied That the Three of Us May Merge and Create a Shivalinga Since Lord Brahmma Had Pleaded for Forgiveness From Him and for the Sake of Worshipping Him, and Because Tirumal Could Not Locate His Feet, It Was Believed That Thirumalai Was Little. As a Result, Maha Shivaratri Is the Day on Which the Lowest Section Becomes Brahma, the Middle Part Becomes Tirumal, and the Higher Part Becomes Shiva.
